Co-Founders: Chris Murphy and Simon Kiersey
Chris Murphy and Simon Kiersey are the co-founders of Bluedrop Medical, a medical company that has developed a patented system to reduce the burden of diabetic foot ulcers. Bluedrop Medical combines detection technology with the internet of things in order to create a connected health system capable of identifying ulcers early, so they can be treated more effectively and cheaply.
Furthr first began working with Bluedrop Medical in 2016 when Chris and Simon took part in SPRINT, a three-day accelerator designed to help pre-investment start-ups become investor-ready in a short time frame. As a part of this short, intense accelerator, Furthr’s consultants worked with Bluedrop Medical in all facets of business development. Furthr assisted Bluedrop Medical in creating customer personas, building a value proposition, reviewing and executing all financial documents, and assisting in developing a better understanding of key financial statements including pro-forma P&L and cash flow statements.
After working through the SPRINT accelerator with Chris and Simon, Furthr introduced them to Halo Business Angels who took the opportunity to invest in Bluedrop Medical. With this funding, Chris and Simon are able to continue pursuing their mission of helping the hundreds of thousands of diabetics who are likely to develop foot ulcers at some point in their life.
